Our Visit to Chicago Children's Museum

While the kids and I were at Navy Pier last week for the media preview of the Perry the Platy-bus Tour stop in Chicago, we squeezed in a visit to the Chicago Children's Museum also on Navy Pier.

We had a blast visiting all her favorite permanent exhibits like the climbing rope tunnel, the water area, the dino boneyard, the fire zone, and the building spots.

And as luck would have it, our visit was just in time to catch the Circus Zircus exhibit just before it closed on August 12th.  I'm so sorry to see this highly interactive exhibit go, but so glad we had our chance to try it out.  The kids had an absolute blast trying out the mini tight rope, lifting the giant barbells, walking on stilts, and spinning on the hoop.  What great fun!  The next exhibit opening will really have a hard act to follow.

So what will be the next exhibit and when will it arrive?  I'm told an exhibit called "Unboxed: Adventures in Cardboard" will open on August 28th.  And while most parents know how highly entertaining a cardboard box can be to a child, can this simple cubed cardboard structure really dazzle the kids of Chicago?  I, for one, can't wait to find out.
